Exhibition in Café De Minnaar
As of this monday, we will have a small but permanent exhibition in cafĂ© De Minnaar van de Rozenstraat – our homebase for regular scribble/jam/drinking sessions – in Groningen. Below a small preview from what I'm planning to put up. Originals, yes, and two nice color prints. Most were drawn, or at least gestated, in that same cafĂ©.
I seem to like that word. Gestated. Pfooaaar.

DOORS
This is a bit of a weird story on first glance. It's a dream-sequence for the next issue of GR'NN. Each artist only has a few things to work with: the main character, a bit of background information on her, and the fact that it should begin and end with a door. And of course that it is one of the character's dreams.
I'm kind of happy with how the dream-logic worked out in this story – I managed to mostly put the plot (and I use the term loosely) together as a stream of consciousness, only changing one aspect of it (the entrance into the one-eyed bunny symbol) in a later phase.
All old-fashionedly pencilled and inked on A4 paper.

Temper thinks it over
Gee where did Temper hide all those years?
For who is interested: Temper was an alter-ego of mine for years. The album he birthed can be read online here.
There's some newer Tempers here as well.

Olaf artwork galleries
I just uploaded a bunch of drawings and sketches and designs to the artwork galleries of our short movie Olaf.
Olaf is a fairytale about a young cannon, living a carefree life in a small town. One day, on his 14th birthday, he suddenly discovers the more destructive side of being a cannon. He feels forced to leave his damaged friends behind, and go out into the world in search of an elegant solution to his devastating problem.Lot of old stuff there as well, was a fun walk down memory lane – we worked on the movie (on and off) for about 5 years.

Big Ink
Some older works to get things going. These are big pieces (63cm x 88cm), made with ink and brush, on paper, pasted on cardboard, mounted on painted MDF.
